Iambic PentameterS
If you have read SHAKESPEARE you have read iambic pentaMeters.
Have you noticed that some syllables are stressed and some aren't? Iambic Pentameters take ADVANTAGE of this and put one unstressed SYLLABLE next to a stressed one. This is called a foot, you put five feet in a sentence and you have an iambic pentameter!

<---- See that? That is a line from Romeo and Juliet, a famous play written by Shakespeare. He was famous for the use of iambic pentameters in his poetry. He used it to give his poetry a flow to it. He was born in England in 1864 and wrote several plays. He is known as the greatest poet in England's history and died in April 1616.
Here is a quatrain from a poem written

All that i meant, or whether it is true.
Anthony Thwaite is an English poet borner in Chester in 1930. He is married to Ann Thwaite and has won the OBE for his poetry. He currently lives in Yorkshire.
Enough about those critically acclaimed poets. Let's take a look at someone who has no skills in poetry. That person is me. I have written an example of iambic pentameter. -----> Iambic pentameters are simple
