Rhyming Couplets
Rhyming couplets, it sounds intimidating right? Well, it's actually not. Rhyming couplets are merely a pair of lines of meter in poetry. They usually consist of two lines that usually have the same length. Rhyming couplets should always rhyme, other wise they wouldn't be rhyming couplets.
Here's a few examples to help you understand what we're talking about.

Alfred Joyce Kilmer was born December 6, 1886 and lived until July 30, 1918. He was most famous for his short poem titled "Trees" which was published in 1914 in his book titled "Trees and other poems". Lots of Kilmer's works celebrated the natural beauty of the world, and his religious beliefs of Roman Catholicism. Joyce was also a married man, married to Aline Murray with whom he had 5 children. Kilmer died as a soldier fighting for his country at the second battle of Marne.

Shel Silverstein was born September 25, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois where he began his career as a writer and poet at a surprisingly young age. Among the many things Silverstein was, he became a Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated songwriter. Silverstein wrote many books, but is iconic for his well- written and well illustrated young people's books. Some of his writings include The Lion Who Shot Back, The Giving Tree, and The Missing Piece Meets the Big O. Some of his poetry collections are Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic, and Falling Up. Shel Silverstein passed away in May of 1999, leaving behind his legend for later generations to enjoy.
